GVV&CVC Uleybury School Run – 17th January 2018

Anthony & Jag

“CRIKEY SIR. THAT BLOODY HURT”, said Steven, who was caned for playing with the desk ink.

We had a relaxing run with morning tea at the One Tree Hill Store and then drove a short distance to the Uleybury School built in 1856. We were greeted by the very strict school headmaster, Mr Squire and were seated in the old wooden desks to try our hand at cursive writing using a split knib ink pen and blotting paper. After some chastising for most and a caning for one of the students we had a look around the area and then drove down to the Grand Central Tavern at Elizabeth where we all enjoyed a top lunch.
This outing bought back memories of schooling for the older lot and we all enjoyed our run today

Thanks to Gerry & Gordon for organising this outing.

Regards Brewan
